On Mr. Ilayapari...

The People's Doctor

Mr. Ilayapari is a social worker in the field of health and medicine. He specialises in psychiatric counselling and serves the community through 'cure trust' which is a trust that helps people in need, both monetarily and medically. For the past 18 years, he has been rescuing people who are left injured on the roads and offers them first aid. He provides medical help without any fee.
He is an interesting man with an interesting qualification because, he is a doctor with a civil engineering degree. How interesting is that! I don't mean to throw a negative light on him nor do I say that he is fake. He is a recognised doctor and a psychiatrist and I say he is better than many doctors with an MBBS degree. He has been awarded ' The best doctor' award for saving more than 27,000 injured people on the road. But his qualification does not come from studying in a medical college, but through experience and observation. Growing in a family of doctors, he always chose to have a front row seat in all surgeries and treatments. What he lacked in theory, he made up in practical experience. He gradually started giving first aid, lent a helping hand to doctors who needed help in emergencies, gave medical counseling to people who could not afford to go to a hospital and thus became qualified.
Along with a few scientists, he found the famous and most demanded 'ginger therapy' that can cure kidney problems without dialysis or transplantation. This is a big feat for a person who has no medical education.
He is different from and better than the other doctors in many aspects. While doctors today, hardly listen to the patients, Mr. Ilayapari not only listens to them but helps them beyond just their physical illness. He always walks the extra mile by giving money to his poor patients, providing them education and makes sure they start a new and better life. To Mr. Ilayapari, when a person comes seeking for help, it is a start of a lifelong relationship.
He serves people based on the motto " Love and kindness can cure any disease".
He was raised by his grandparents and parents to never turn a deaf ear to people who come seeking for help. He is a man of optimism and never lets people feel down or discouraged. This service he offers to the community has earned him so many families and friends who look up to him. While there are many doctors out there who work for money, here is a good example of a 'People's Doctor'.
